Prof. Gail S. Goodman holds an distinguished chair in psychology of the University of California Davis and is also the Director of the Center for Public Policy Research. She is widely acknowledged as a pioneer in the field of witness testimony by children and the eyewitness memory in the legal setting. Professor Goodman is a prolific writer and has been awarded several grants, and has been honored with many award both international and national. Her work has been with numerous governments and organizations across the world on research and guidelines pertaining to children who are victims of the legal system. She is a consultant at the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center which was previously known as the Multidisciplinary Interview Center of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She holds memberships in many professional organizations, like the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. Professor Goodman is also a member of the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children (Founding Member) International Society for the prevention of child abuse and Neglect as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She was President of three divisions (Division Society for Policy and Child Development and Practice Division American Psychology-Law Society as well as Division Developmental Psychology) and one Section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
